My son is three, he goes to bed at 8 and is usually up around 6-630. But lately, he has been getting up at 5-5:30...and that is killing me. It is 10 am and I am beat. We have already done laundry, gone out to breakfast, colored, played a game, played Wii sports, and now he is doing the running exercise on Wii fit. My son is turning 5 next May and we decided on a Wii, because I have read so many reviews about Leap Frogs and V-Techs freezing up and my son gets frustrated when things like that freeze. Plus the Wii has a wider variety of games for him as he progresses. He has high functioning Autism (so in many ways he is like a 3-4 year old) and does best with games he mostly has to move the remote around with. He is a smart little boy and it is only a matter of time before he can do games just like a typical 5 year old.Right now I am not really looking for as much educational. He cannot count yet, though he is starting to do well with colors. Just something he can basically move around with for now. more

With titles such as mad world coming out for the wii it is clear than the console is shifting away from it's all-age-groups target audience. I'm an owner of a wii in an area dominated by 360's and I have to admit it gets very annoying when I tell someone I have a wii and they immediately think toddler games. So how much longer do you think the wii is going to be linked to wario-ware and cooking mama instead of the more mature games that are either out already or are soon to be out? For the record, here's a list of games rated M on the wii that are currently out: Call of Duty: World at War CSI: Hard Evidence Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Far Cry Vengeance The Godfather: Blackhand Edition The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return The House of the Dead: Overkill And that's just a few of the ones I bothered to compile. Admittedly the gameplay on some of these may be questionable, but I think these are enough games to prove that the wii is not just a kid's console, and that's ignoring the incredibly popular guitar hero series. more

We have the Wii and the Wii Sports but we have yet to purchase any games yet...the kids want to get a Super Mario game but I'm worried my toddler twins won't be able to use the remotes. (They get frustrated on the other games at times). They saw a Dora Snow Princess (ugh!) game in the store and wanted it, but I wasn't sure it was worth the money. Resolved Question: What is it with the addiction to game systems, parents?

A short while back there was a question concerning an elementary school aged boy that was very heavy, and the asker was concerned about his weight problem and was looking for ideas to get him more active to help him out. So I suggested that they get rid of the game systems, and do things out of the house such as team sports. I got TONS of thumbs down, and it seemed that everyone else's answer was, "get a Nintendo Wii." They all got tons of thumbs up. Now I know what a Wii is - I have one that I play with when the toddlers are in bed. Sure, it's a step in the right direction because you don't just sit on a couch.. But why does everyone think that the Wii replaces all exercise? Why is everyone willing to let their kids live in front of the Wii and tell themselves it's a great thing, because it's exercise?! I don't get it. If I want my kids to get exercise, the tv is shut down and we're all playing in the back yard. Am I just not "with it?" more

I have 5 kids and the age ranges are 3,6,7,9,11 the 3 year old is the only girl. This year I hit the jackpot with her presents. I was able to buy her lots for her $100 budget I bought her: a vugo system and a idog with bag and 2 outfits+ 3 toddler cd's, puppy in my pocket, 2 mini barbies, playmobile togo house + extra people, and a princess barbie house. the boys all I have bought them are a wii fit, 6 wii games, 8 nintendo sp games, 2 game cube games, pillows,bathsets, a few puzzles and games and name brand backpacks and a few other odds and ends. Resolved Question: Can a Wii be fixed?

My toddler shoved some coins into the slot where you insert the disks. We were able to get the change out, but the Wii isn't working. As soon as you put the game in the system spits it right back out. Does anyone know if this is fixable? My name Chris aka RockLegend08 on Guitar Hero 3. I do belive that despite owning a Wii and being loyal since 1985 that nintendo is full of shit. They can't get games that the XBOX360 or PS3 has they still value the opinions of housewifes and with all the flaws and crappy titles they make, They try to get us to believe that the wiimote is so amazing that we forget they are still developing crap for toddlers. How is it that the video game competion have dvd capability and can play/cd mp3's and can shoot inocent bystanders and rape pillage and slaughter at will on their consoles but nintebdo needs permission from mothers to show blood or a bullet wound. yeah if nintendo could only make their f*****g horrible crap on a system for 4-16 yr olds and give us 18-30 violence and blood like on my 360 that would be so awesome.
