Open Question: What are some good websites about abortion?

I have started A-Level RE and in groups we have to make a presentation on the line 'Abortion - a crime against humanity' so I need some websites in particular about the ideas of what an aborted baby actually is and whether it is actually a human or just a ball of cells and stuff like that. more

Resolved Question: Fellow Christians, why are you so adamant that abortion is murder?

Just asking. I personally do not believe so. It is why people have abortions that are the main problem. Life-saving: It can be very useful if a woman would die/ or be harmed by the pregnancy. (Yes some are saved as are others that do not take major life-saving surgeries but it should be for the family to decide not us) Rape: Especially of a young girl. I do not believe it is my choice to decide what a young girl and her parents should do about the pregnancy. Physical and mental trauma could follow and her safety should be considered. Yes, I do not agree with the reason most have abortions, they have a choice and will be judged accordingly for it. I do not know it is murder and so can not condemn them for that sin. I can only advise against it. "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. (A crime but not equivalent to murder) "And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth . . ."--Ex. 21:22-25 If anything the doctors performing abortions are guilty of crimes. To those who say a mother must want to give up her life for the baby? What if they are to both die? What then if she has other children? Her husband? Do her born children take second place? It is for herself and her husband to decide. I wonder also how many of you are passionate about saving the starving, sick and abused children of this world? more

Resolved Question: If abortion is legal in the UK then how come it is still listed on the Offences Against the Person Act 1861?

Attempts to procure Abortion 58) Administering drugs or using instruments to procure abortion Every woman, being with child, who, with intent to procure her own miscarriage, shall unlawfully administer to herself any poison or other noxious thing, or shall unlawfully use any instrument or other means whatsoever with the like intent, and whosoever, with intent to procure the miscarriage of any woman, whether she be or be not with child, shall unlawfully administer to her or cause to be taken by her any poison or other noxious thing, or shall unlawfully use any instrument or other means whatsoever with the like intent, shall be guilty of felony. 59) Procuring drugs, &c. to cause abortion Whosoever shall unlawfully supply or procure any poison or other noxious thing, or any instrument or thing whatsoever, knowing that the same is intended to be unlawfully used or employed with intent to procure the miscarriage of any woman, whether she be or be not with child, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor more

Resolved Question: Pregnancy dilemma - girl in trouble?

I was talking to one of my close friends from school who I hadn't seen for about a year and she told me a shocking story. We were all raised in a Catholic school so all the girls were well behaved and that. She was at a Basement Jaxx gig the other month and when she was walking back to her car she got talking to these two guys. They found a bar that was open and quite a few people from the gig were in there having a drink. They stayed for a couple of hours and one of the girls hadn't seen my friend for a while. After searching around and half an hour later, it transpired that some guy had managed to confront her in the toilet passageway and got her outside in the lane and raped her. She entered the pub in a hell of a state. The bar closed it's doors and the police were called etc... Anyway, I heard today that she is now pregnant. She really doesnt know what to do. She is going to Uni in September and this will ruin it if she has the baby. Her family arent the richest in the world and simply cannot afford to send her to Uni AND bring up a child at the same time, nevermind all the "Uni fun" and life qualifications she is going to miss out on. She is seriously considering a termination as it is only about a month since the rape. I'm not sure what her parents think but I'm pretty sure they are against abortion. I know the Catholic stance on the whole thing but to ruin a girls life because of what some religion says? She is so scared of upsetting people and I know she just wants to go through with the abortion but is scared of being disowned by her parents because of some religion. She has asked her closest friends what to do but being a man I had no idea what to say. Getting an abortion seems the best solution to me but the subject is just too intense for me to even begin to discuss with her. Can someone help with some opinions??? more

Resolved Question: Its a tough one here........?

Iv noticed that alot of women on here only care about a problem when it affects women, but when a similar problem affects men they tell us to deal with it. Eg In abortion women say "its women that have babies, men dont, lifes not fair so deal with it" yet these same women complain about business how they have to dedicate most of you 20's and 30's to a business to suceed, which they cant do as this is when the majority have thier babies, they cry that this is unfair, but do you think they would accept men saying "men dont have babies, men work 5 years longer (uk) life isnt fair deal with it" as they expected us to when they said it....no they moan on about it....lifes only not fair when its not fair against women right? more

Resolved Question: If Christians are against abortion, IVF then why aren't they against medical methods for maintaining life?

They're against medically ending life and starting life, why aren't they against surgery, antibiotics, etc? Particularly considering such things are the fruits of science, which directly contradicts Christianity in many places.Roman Catholics are against IVF sorry, should have been more specific. Even so, what's the difference between artificially ending and "creating" (bearing in mind life is not created, simply passed on) life? Both are 'unnaturally' playing with God's gift of life and so against God's will. Why can't we extend that to artificially prolonging life?Jimmy if you aren't aware of the theory of evolution, the Big Bang theory and lack of archaeological evidence for the Bible then maybe you shouldn't question my information sources. Science directly contradicts Christianity. Again, ROMAN CATHOLICS. That is what the Pope preaches, that is what I am commenting on. I was not stereotyping, I was just not clear, again sorry. more

Resolved Question: I made a complaint abt my tutor.?

I opened up to my tutor about having an abortion last year and she said to me that i was lying to my dad because i have not told him. she has no right to say that to me as she is to keep everything confidential on what i tell her. I missed a few placements of work (roughly around 4-5) and now she is making me do 2 whole weeks of work at a school when i finish on the 3rd july. she wants me to work for an extra week. this aint fair on me because theres the other students in my class thta have missed more time than i have and she aint makin them do it. why is she doin this 2 me? I know she has something against me. I made a complaint as she stressed me out and wasn't being porfessional and helpful towards me. i dont know what to do now. she's favouriting everyone else but with me she's being totally horrible. more

Resolved Question: About the late term abortion doctor who was killed in a church?

Don't you think it's a bit weird that a church would allow a late term abortion doctor be part of it's community. I'm not totally against abortion but don't agree with it fully, but any how, are catholics and christians alike not supposed to support life?! not kill unborn babies that have done nothing wrong? what are your views on what happened?i mean if you were a church goer, would you want to sit next to someone preaching to be a good person, while all the while killing innocent babies ?very true, i just found it strange that an abortion doctor was a church goer. I dont mean to offend anyone either by this comment just wanted other peoples views on it. I am currently 35weeks and 5days pregnant with my 3rd baby and having been pregnant before i cant imagine why any woman after feeling her baby move and seing that their child is viable would want to have an abortion. In my view, from the day you find out for sure that you are pregnant you should have 2/3 weeks to think about what you want to do, after that if you dont want the baby then put it up for addoption as there are many couples out there who long for a baby of their own but just can't have one. Just my view, don't mean to offend x more

Resolved Question: Pro lifers vs Pro choicers.....Do you understand there is a scale? And what am I?

I disagree with late stage abortion. I think that there should be laws against abortion where a fetus has been proved to survive from if born premature (and probably a month before). I Agree that abortion of a bunch of cells (anything that cannot sustain life on its own by a long shot) is NOT murder. It isn't something to be proud about and should be avoided if at all possible but should be an option..... So what am i?Enormous...Grow up and get your insults right...how would i be a wuss/wimp? It's easier (and more cowardly) to blindly support the prolifers as THEY are the ones shooting people in churches and blowing up people therefore the ones, if i was a wimp, i would go aong with.Jacob, thanks for that stroll down memory lane. Being British, the american history doesn't concern me. I would say though that your supreme court is exactly that a supreme court. It decides law based on what is seen as being right. Wasn't exactly on point though more

Resolved Question: Men of GWS what do you think of my new invention?

Ok lets say i have invented a pill which caused the sperm to be unable to impregnate, and in order to fix it another pill which will re stabilise the sperm production now.. Would you buy it Would you like such a product Do you believe that this will reduce the numbers of abortions due to mistakes Would you inform your GF or wife if you were using one ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Women would you like such a product? Would you like the thought that in order to have a child you would have to ask your partner to use the correct pill. Do you believe that this will reduce numbers of unwanted children thus abortion rate decrease. Do you feel this will take away the 'woman's choice' about pregnancy or do you feel this would truly make things equal --------------------------------------------------------------------------- And guys good thing is that unlike if a woman takes sperm out of a condom and uses it to get herself pregnant, there have been cases and the guy had to pay child support. Now however she would have to give you a drug without you knowing against your consent greater legal defence.Takes time dark eyes if they can im sure the drug company will they love money and they would make loads of it lol more

Resolved Question: What's the main religion in Europe?

Christianity is seen as our religion in America so is that the same with Europe. For our nation being christian is important and basically a prerequisite in order to be president, is that the same for you guys. Also is gay marriage condemned? How about abortion (I am against as well)? I was quite glad when California turned down gay marriage because our country was built on christian values. I believe since most of us have ancestors from Europe that our neighbors would have a huge influence as well from Christianity. more

Resolved Question: What would you do if your boyfriend who you love wants you to have an abortion but you don't know if you can?

I recently got pregnant after my birth control failed, I found out last week I was 2 months gone and asked my boyfriend how he felt, after a few days he said he didn't want me to have it. I love him like crazy and don't want to split up with him and he says he doesn't want to lose me either but he has pretty much said that if I have it we will split up. I want the baby, I know it will be hard but I do want it, I worry that I will resent him if I have the abortion and I also am kind of against it, I don't judge other people for having an abortion or anything but I would feel guilty inside myself. I have a wonderful loving family who say they will help me and money isn't an issue as I work and my mother says she will take care of my baby when my maternity leave is up What should I do?The fathers reason is he doesn't want a child more

Resolved Question: Baby stuff-Just too warn, about A?

Just want too warn you, the topic of this question maybe a bit much for some people, as it is too do with abortion and I know alot of people are against it. Ok, I am an 18 year old girl, I had an abortion around the end of march. I know some people may not agree, but it just isnt the right time for me therefore me and my boyfriend felt it was the right decision. Well, I had the abortion, and then I was meant too return too the clinic three weeks later too make sure everything is okay, but I didnt go as I did a test at home and it was negative so I thought everything was fine. I was only 5 weeks when I had it. Well anyway, recently I have been getting really bad stomach pains, like the bottom of my stomach and I am just wondering if it may be connected. But, also, I have a really poor diet so I am wondering if that may be the case, as I have lots of fatty foods. more

Voting Question: Pregnancy stress......?

My ex has been giving me hell since i split up with him,hes managed to turn people against me by telling them the baby probably isn't his because he thinks i was seeing someone,im a total c**t apparently who's destroyed his life by keeping the baby, the next minute hes demanding a dna test when the baby is born, ive had enough of it,whatever i say to him is getting twisted and i cant cope,i have a disabled daughter who is 11 from a previous relationship, she is severely visually impaired and also has a growth hormone deficiency,im worried about my everything,so much goes through your head when you are pregnant,im scared my baby is going to be born with some thing wrong with it,i know this may seem irrational to some people but to me its a daily struggle with my daughter and although i would learn to cope if my baby also had a disability,im just terrified about everything, and the stress from my ex is too much to take,i called him yesterday and said i didn't want to fight,it ended up in another row and ive asked him to just stay away during the pregnancy because the stress is making me ill,and if he wants to be in his child's life, and is serious about a dna test, then that's okay, and that's something we can deal with after the birth.I just cant cope anymore,im hardly eating,i had three hours sleep last night,i had a nervous breakdown 7 years ago i don't want to ever be like that again, but im just not good with being highly stressed out,and he seems to be doing everything he can to do exactly that because i wont agree to an abortion and ive destroyed his life. more

Resolved Question: To those who are opposed to abortion, and nationalised health care; what's your view?

If someone, who had been raped, did not abort their subsequent pregnancy, in accordance with the, hypothetical, law; and did not have the child adopted. If the child later became ill-enough to be admitted to hospital, but the mother did not qualify for any, current, supported health care: would you support nationalised health care, to be made available for all, so that there would be no financial discrimination against anyone else due to their economic position? more

Resolved Question: What should i do? Abortion or keep the baby?

Ok so in the past 3 weeks ive been going downhill quite fast, Ive got prenatal depression, im having problems with my partner im not sure if its right, Ive not slept properly for 3 weeks, ive been feeling sick everyday quite bad and being sick at night, ive gone off all food and don't want to eat anything but if i don't eat i make myself worse, ive been feeling so unhappy, i had a miscarriage 9 weeks ago and i think it was too soon to get pregnant again, we weren't trying but got caught again in the first week after as we wasn't sure what we wanted in that week. I have exams these next few weeks, Im so scared and im physically and emotionally drained and really cannot cope anymore. I have to make two decisions weather i want to stay with my partner and weather i want to keep the baby. Please nobody who's going to tell me that im a horrible person for considering abortion because im only 18 and the doctor said it could cause psychological damage if with all the stress and pressure on me at the moment. I was so against abortion before this and im still am but i really cannot cope anymore. Any advice please? more

Resolved Question: How to overcome teenage Pregnancy?

I'm 17 and recently found out i'm pregnant to my boyfriend, it wasn't planned and my mum took it bad. She told me i wasn't allowed in the house untill i considered her option which was abortion. I told her this was not an option for me and i understood the responsibility and would get my own house when the baby was born. Eventually when she let me come home, she is telling me one minute its going to be fine, then when she around some one she says stuff like we don't know what to do and she is finding it hard to cope. I try very hard to take her opinions into consideration as i love her but recently she uses everything against me, that im not responsible and that ive ruined her and her husbands lives and threatens that i have to go live with my dad, she says all i think about is myself when im trying so hard not too im so confused and dont know what to do.this is her 3rd week of knowing i told her a couple of days before i found out, but she is still doing this im trying to undertstand but its just making me really stressed and upset.Forgot to say my mum is 43 and her husband has no children and she wants to have children with him so this makes it even harder! more

Resolved Question: Ladies with hormones making them feel crazy, unhappy ect...?

Ladies who have hormones that are making them feel crazy and unhappy and hatred or anger towards their partners. How did you deal with it? For the past 3 weeks ive had little sleep as i cannot sleep at all, i wake 6 times maybe more a night and get around 2 hours proper sleep. Ive had sickness, leg and back pains, headaches, stomach ache, excess wind, dioreah, constipation everything you can think of when your pregnant and i just feel so crap. My hormones have also turned me against my partner and its making life difficult. They are also causing me to keep asking myself wether i really want this baby. I had a miscarrige 9 weeks ago and got pregnant straight away afterwards and i was soo happy with my last pregnancy i had no sickness and didn't feel ill all the time and felt great and loved my partner so much but i just feel awful and feel like i cannot deal with it. Did anybody else have this and how did you deal with it, Im so so angry and upset and i just keep crying about it and thinking that am i with the right person and should i go ahead with the pregnancy. I really don't want to get an abortion i just really need some help advice and reassurance that all my feelings for my partner will come back and these negative feelings about the baby will go away. Im only 18 and have been through so much, after my loss we tryed again for a week and then decided to wait a year or two but got caught in that 1 week, i was soo happy when i found out. Resolved Question: I am strongly against abortion & my best friend has had one, how do I handle awkward situations?

When the topic of abortion is brought up when we are both around our friends, I usually say my piece, which is basically "I dont agree" and she doesn't say anything. I never ever ever talk about babies or abortions when it's just us two, or when we're with others but when we are with people and they bring it up..... what do I do? I am not exactly an anti-abortion activist, I don't go screaming "it's murder" every chance I get (even though I do think it is) just because you never know peoples situations but I also would never encourage, support it or say it's okay... at most I say I dont agree with it... that's it. She hasn't said anything but looking at it or thinking of it from her standpoint, I would feel really awkward.... I know it would be most considerate not say anything, but that's just going along with PC, which I hate, and not standing up for what I believe it, which everyone should do. The worst thing is that this happened only a few years ago and she doesn't seem to have learned anything from that, she still has unprotected sex with no care in the world with guys she's known 5 minutes. Thankfully she hasn't gotten pregnant again but she has caught almost every STD known. more

Resolved Question: I am having an abortion and need advice on whether i should tell the dad (not sure who's it is)?

i slept with one guy on the friday night, which was a mistake and then another guy, who i have had a physical relationship with for a while now, on the sunday. i took the morning after pill Monday morning. The friday guy didnt cum, the sunday guy did. that would make it more probable to be the sunday guy. but having taken the morning after pill on monday, that would have been more effective against the sunday guy than it would the friday guy. Due to the sunday guy actually ejaculating inside me and the friday not, not at all, i am sure it is the sunday guys baby. he knows and he knows i am having, and wants me to have, an abortion. even though the chances are so so SO small that it could be the friday guys, do people think i should tell the friday guy too - Just in case.......... (p.s. i know people reading this will think it was bad of me to sleep with both guys in one weekend, but it wasnt like me, and both nights just happened. I dont sleep around not at all and the decision to have an abortion is tourturing me - but for many reasons i know i have to) really grateful for any advice on whether to tell the friday guy.....thank you to everyone who has answered so far. just so you know Nikki, I am 7 weeks pregnant - it was a weekend at the start of April. I knew that I would get responses like i have got from people who are against abortions. i have to say, until now i thought the same, but i would never ever say things like that to someone. i have recently had surgery which gives it a high possibility that i wouldnt be able to carry this baby past 3/4 months anyway...... i really cant go into the reasons that i am having an abortion, but it really is my only choice........ more

Resolved Question: Is humanity too intelligent for it's own good?

I've been thinking about this for quite some time now. Firstly, nearly everything that poses a major threat to planet Earth is man-made. Take global warming, for example. (Man-made) global warming would not exist without man, obviously enough. Science and technology are making rapid advances, but it's more of a one step forward and two steps back to be called 'advances'. So science is really a mixed blessing. Next, think about population growth. The Earth's population is growing rapidly because of advances in medicine, which also means that life expectancy is increasing. Think about swine flu, for example. Pandemics are nature's way of culling the population, but when a cure may be available within 100 days, surely we are fighting Mother Nature? I am not saying that we should let people die to save the planet, I truly value life, but Mother Nature does know what she's doing and going against nature could be fatal. But now we know that Planet Earth is becoming over-populated and that we are eating the Earth's resources till there's nothing less. This is worrying, as once all these resources run out, Earth will become uninhabitable, and will be unable to support any form of life. This may be hundreds or thousands of years away, but we still have to take responsibilities of the planet we inhabit as stewards of the planet. There are many more examples on this topic, I'm sure you can think of more instances where science and technology and human intelligence is actually a disadvantage to the world. On the subject of religion, science has contradicted nearly everything in religious scriptures. As a Roman Catholic, I look to the Bible for moral guidance. The Bible is completely out-dated. How do we know what is sinful and what is morally correct when most of the moral dilemmas we face were not around thousands of years ago? Abortion, for example, it says nothing in the Bible about abortion, apart from 'Thou shalt not kill', but some people do not consider abortion to be murder. And artificial contraception, it never says in the Bible 'Thou shalt not use rubbers'. Science has found a way of getting around all that is considered 'sinful'. As a Catholic, I only have the doctrines of Popes and the Majesterium to look for moral guidance, yet sometimes I doubt these beliefs. I don't believe in 'editing' or 'updating' the Bible like many Christian religions believe, but human beings have created sins, and this is not to our advantage. I probably should mention that I'm 15 just so you can rant on about how much you cared when you were 15, but know you couldn't give a crap about anything than your own life. I've heard it all before, please spare me, this is who I am, and my concerns for humanity will not cease as I mature. more

Resolved Question: True or false: men have been oppressed more by other men, than by feminism?

If it's true that female leaders like Queen Victoria didn't give women rights, then it's also true that every male political leader since time immemorial has failed to give men DV shelters, paternity leave, right to avoid military draft, Violence Against Men Act, financial abortions, etc. So can anti-feminists admit that men have been oppressed more by other men, than by feminists? :-) more

Resolved Question: Best friend is pregnant.?

My best friend is pregnant, and decided to have an abortion. She's only told me and her boyfriend, but wants me to go with her when she has it aborted. I am completely against abortions, and especially as she is 2 months into the pregnancy. Resolved Question: I think maybe my sister should have an abortion-please help?

My sister is 20 weeks pregnant but doctors have told her that her baby has Edwards syndrom or Trisomy 18 and her baby will not survive more than a few hours after birth, if that. At the moment she thinks she wants to continue the pregnancy but she has not made up her midn for sure. Now usually i'm against abortion but in this case i think it might be the best option. Obviously, either way is going to be extremely difficult but i just think it will break my sisters heart to only hold her baby for a short while. This would be her first child. Anyone have any thoughts? Or has anyone else had any relations go through the same thing?to everyone saying its her choice, let her make her decision, etc I know it is her choice and i am in no way going to force her into doing anything either way. Of course all i want to do is support her and give her any advice. I wanted to see what other people thought so that i could support her the best i can! more

Voting Question: Abortion: Arguments for and against?

I was wondering what people think about abortion. I am against it because of several facts: It is not right to take the right of a baby, Abortion should not be used as another form of contraception, so it should not be allowed; Also, there are people who can not have babies for certain reasons who want to adopt. There are many couples who are looking to adopt. What do you think of abortions? more

6 weeks ago I got my period, as normal. the week after it came again. and since then I've had sex once. that was 2 weeks ago. WE ALWAYS USE PROTECTION. I'm peeing like mad, always hungry. Burgers and meet all of a sudden have been making me feel really sick. I go through out the day feeling sick. I'm always tiard. I think I should get checked for a possible pregnancy. But then comes the next thing. I am against abortion but again me and Stephen are 16. I don't go to school, he does, I'm unemployed and 16! I couldn't give it up for adoption because I know if I go through with the pregnancy I would want to keep the baby ... I just know I would. But I'm too young and skint and have the rest of my life ahead of me. Is that selfish :( Stephen is also soo scared!! My emotions are up and down I don't know what I want! My dad would never talk to me again.... But then again I hate him and don't live with him. My mum would be so disappointed :( she knew I was on the pill and I told her I came of it because it made me put on weight and she knows I have sex. I just don't know :( Please don't say stuff like you had sex now suffer the consequences etc :( I need help, some word's of wisdom. Not people judging me :( more

Resolved Question: Anti abortion groups? Anti research groups - especially against embryonic research etc. Do you have any links?

I have a story that may interest them all.I was working for Driver Hire Nottingham, contracted to Medical Waste solutions (queens drive ind' est' Nottingham)and working on a contract that I believe a company named 'SEDEXHO' operate. I was sent to Northwick park Hospital where I was meant to collect the waste which in my mind could very easily contain all the abortions of that day and worse. As there are different levels of waste that have to be accounted for- eg anatomical waste and clinical waste etc I have to use correct and proper procedure which includes verifying the load to be taken. I was asked that the paperwork be signed prior to me doing this and I refused- The manager running the waste (SEDEXHO) tried to bully me into having it signed- I refused again. There should be no problem in performing duties as they are meant to be performed unless there is something else going on. I cannot make allegations because I have no proof- but what I can say is what ran through my head at the time:Scope for mischief! more

Resolved Question: Are there any protest groups out there that protest against research on embryo's and abortion victims etc?

A few years back, I can remember the media highlighting a practice like this and I seem to remember that they didn't know how the laboratories aquired the material (foetuses and aborted embryo's). I may be mistaken in what I read but something in my mind remembered an issue over this. I am a Truck driver that was on a job where it left scope for abuse in this very way- I was asked to have the itenary signed before loading or even verifying the load- I actually refused and conducted business without any scope for illegal misconduct BUT for my efforts- I was labelled as being MILITANT and kicked off the job. As the Health and Safety Executive or unconcerned with me being penalised for keeping my integrity and shutting the door on potential abuse of this nature- I ask WHY- I need to publicise the affair and get the public to shut the door on this type of thing occurring. I am not against research if it has legal authority to be performed and there is a proper inventory that shows legally aquired materials are used- I am against the bullying and intimidation that occurs in the transport industry and even more so- when I am penalised for not breacking code under the carriage of dangerous goods act.I'm actually about to be thrown into prison for something created by the system and can only surmise that it's because I've already caused disruption to someones little moneypot! YES this is my only way of attempting publicity on some of the things our government so obviously turns a blind eye to! more

Resolved Question: Conservatives are against abortion and birth control yet you never see them adopt?

Resolved Question: How do you make such an important decision?

I've been thinking about this for a really long time, I've had pregnancy scares but never actually had a posotive come back so I've never had to think about it seriously. However recently I had a pregnancy scare and it really made me think what I would actually do about it? I'm 19 years old and I've got University starting in September. I want children, that's an easy answer. I just don't know how I could make that decision or if I even could? If I had a baby it would change so much, I know I wouldn't regret it because I would love he/she so much, but then I have to think about my age and how little I would be able to offer a child? I live with my parents and I would never be able to tell them. Ever. I just couldn't take that. When I think about having a baby I know I could do it, but it's a really hard decision. How do you decide whether to keep a child or not? It's just too hard. I think I would be 50/50 and that scares me because how do you get out of that? How do you go from 49/51 either way? I really can't figure it out and I'm really interested to know if any other people, male or female have had to make the same decisions, and what swayed their decision either way? I'm not against abortion, I agree it's not a form of contraception but in the right circumstances it is a medical procedure and it's available for a reason. But I can also understand how people can be against it, I am not on either side. I just want to know your expereinces. Many Thanks, Angela xI use contraception, I'm not stupid. I just meant out of curiousity what IF something happened. more

Resolved Question: women answer me this?

If a women and a man have consensual sex, and she gets pregnant, he then decides he doesn't want the child, if she decides to have it he has to pay....because its HIS baby too. But when the situation is reversed and he wants it and she doesn't (for no health reason) then surely shouldn't man be able to sue for emotional damages.....after all the women can make the man pay regardless so why is the women never held accountable You always say...men should own up to their responsibilities....how can you say this then at the same time advocate women getting out of theirs having an abortion...against the fathers wishes Why is it 100% woman's before its born....yet EQUAL and 50/50 when its born, why all of a sudden want to share the responsibility only when its born??????if a man cant force a woemn to carry a child to term...for 9 MONTHS...why can a women force a man to pay for it for 18 YEARSi understand but most women here have just shot themselves in the foot by saying you cant force me to carry a baby...its my body....well surely you cant force a man to support a child for 18 years if he doesnt want to......The goverment FORCES people who break the law to go to prison...why should the law not also force people to live with their mistakes unless ther was a medical reason more

Resolved Question: illegal abortion medical malpractice within NHS clinic?

My partner was 18 weeks pregnant & was coersed into having a termination although she was clearly mentally unfit to make such a decison and went against our expressed wishes. What rights of redress in UK law do we have against this action? Your urgent detailed help would be most appreciated upon this most upsetting situation to us (my partner was 34 years of age at the termination which took place in October 2008) thankyou in anticipationFurthermore the termination was deliberatly carried out when I (the father) was not present & my partner (the mother) was in a particularly 'vunerable state 'as the clinictians were aware this went completly against my & my partners position as they were also aware in my presence their coersion would not have worked or culminated in my partner having a termination..Please furher advise us of our rights in law. more

Resolved Question: Abortion has concerned the autonomy of the pregnant woman as balanced against the rights of the foetus.?

Does such a balance sufficiently address the moral conscience of today’s society, and how does it reflect the tensions raised in the Hart/Devlin debate? more

Resolved Question: im pregnant!! please help!?

im 20 years old and have been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years we're deeply in love but he thinks were not ready for the responsibility of becoming parents. although he said he'll back me up i know in his heart he would prefer if i had an abortion. i just started a new job less than a month ago and he is currently laid off collecting unemployment. I understand his initial shock and fear hes only 22 himself, but i am against abortion i feel that everyone no matter what the circumstance deserves the right to live. im really scared to loose him because i love him dearly but im not prepared to kill an innocent human life for his selfishness. however, i am prepared to go through with this pregnancy alone if it comes down to that, i have the support of God and my family and thats all i need. any advice on this topic would really help me right now im really scared. What should i do?? more

I heard on the news the other morning that they are thinking of advertising abortion on the tv...i am from the uk by the way..... Do you think this will cause a lot of contravesy? I know a lot of people are for and against abortion for there own personal reasons, so my question is what do you think about the idea good or badHey guys im not a troll!!I personally don't think its agood idea, i also think it will cause a lot of problems and with some girls may think it is a form of birth control, or can use it as a form of birth control more

Resolved Question: Why do people who profess to be Christians?

Insist in participating in politics, considering that Politics goes against what the Bible really teaches. People who vote are supporting the wars, abortions, abuse of government, permission to sell tobacco, pornography in rated xxx movies, guns. etc. Jesus said that his followers are not apart of this world. John 17:14 more

Resolved Question: Do you think men see abortion more of contraceptive than women do?

Does anyone like me believe there would be more pressure for men to be responsible for getting a women pregnant (as it was years ago) if abortion was not freely available like a lifestyle choice. Im not against abortion in desperate cases, such as rape and teenage pregnancy, but Im against it as a form of contraception for pregnancy merely not being convienent.I know at least one person who has had FIVE and had to pay for her last one as NHS refuse to pay for abortions after three, seriously naive 1st answer. more
